Investigation Package (2 to 5 Days)
This fixed scope engagement is perfect for data gathering, budget justification and product planning. Whether you are a software producer or a hardware manufacturer, investigating if your current Windows-based product can be ported to the Apple OS X platform is a necessary first step. If you don't have an Apple compatible product and you're thinking of releasing one, this is an economic service for scoping out the project requirements.

We will provide an expert diagnosis of your product's successful migration into the Apple OS X world. We will advise you if your product should be ported or if you should create one from scratch. If you have an older Mac software product, we can advise you on how much of your existing code can be ported to OS X.
Scope
A team of experienced Apple OSX developers reviews your current product. They install and use your PC-based product, and then take a good long look at the code. How much can be ported to the new application? How much has to be rewritten?
A team of Quality Assurance technicians evaluates the amount of testing required to ensure your software will be an optimized, market-ready Apple product. Testing is streamlined on the Mac as there are only a few configurations--You only need to test your software on Mac hardware with Mac OS X.
An Atimi project manager who has worked on dozens of such projects provides real-world estimate of the project. The PM and developers produce a detailed task list, with assumptions and risks for each task. The PM refers to our archive of project plans to determine the amount of time each task will require. Everything goes into the planning budget. Successful projects start with an accurate project timeline so you meet your deadlines and you have satisfied partners and customers.
Results & Deliverables
A Project Estimation Report summarizes the evaluation findings. A description of the product, the requirements, and general scope of the project is documented. This is followed by the estimation and findings of the Atimi technical team which outline the technical requirements, skill sets, timeframe, tools required and other project details. This report will give a fair estimation of the project in terms of time, costs, skills and expected output.
This project is conducted on-site at Atimi's lab. We have the latest Apple hardware and software onsite for a thorough and complete testing. All Project Estimation Reports are done by Atimi senior development leads that have a minimum of 10 years of Mac OS X experience.
The output from this mini-project is used in Step Two — Proof-of-Concept Package.
