Atimi Software Vice President, Scott Michaels, was quoted in a recent article in BC Business Magazine about the challenges businesses face with personal use of technology in the workplace.
The article looks at ways employers can broach the subject of personal use of technology at work. Some of the main points of the article are to establish a clear policy that everyone is aware of; and for employers to be adaptable and constantly updating their policy to stay ahead of the technology curve.
Scott says that technology has caused a lot more blending of professional and private lives of employees. Employers refusing to adapt will only cause increasing challenges for HR and IT departments.
As for employees, Michaels says that the best thing to do is use common sense. Don’t store anything on your company computer or smartphone you wouldn’t share with your employer.
