The Move To Apple's iPad

Apple fanatics have taken a sigh of relief, finally seeing the long awaited iPad; now many are pondering the impact this will have on the market. Pre-cursor Windows driven tablets will hit the market earlier, but will they have the depth and functionality that Apple promises?

At this point many companies have begun the move to create iPad friendly applications, either updating from previous iPhone applications, or starting anew - in either case, companies are vying for that 'first to market' push.

Mobile Marketer recently asked Atimi's Scott Michaels for his take on iPad and what it means for Apple's market share, and the rush to be a part of all things iPad.

"In terms of branded applications, we've been contacted by all of the big brands for which we've developed iPhone apps seeing what they can develop for the tablet," said Scott Michaels, vice president at Atimi Software, Vancouver, BC. "The desire and the budgets are there, so brands will enter the tablet space."
